This last weekend I flew from Seattle to hang out with Underoath and see their final show at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. As Cities Burn and mewithoutYou played epic sets, and Underoath's last performance was nothing short of incredible. It was great to bro out with the band in their hometown, talk about what a great run they've had, and reminisce over their years together. We're all sad to see them go, but so thankful for the music they left us with. Underoath have announced dates for their upcoming farewell tour with mewithoutYou, As Cities Burn and letlive. For a full listing of dates and to hear a sample of the band's new song "Sunburnt," check out the Farewell Tour Teaser now on YouTube.

Pre-sale tickets for the tour will be available tomorrow, October 10th at noon local time and will include a limited edition 7” featuring two brand-new songs, as well as a limited edition tour poster. Regular tickets will go on sale to the public this Friday and Saturday, October 12 and 13. While the band would love to extend their farewell to more areas of the U.S. and more countries around the world, due to growing family and life commitments these will be the only shows on the tour, so make sure to get there!

Underoath are formally announcing their plans to disband following a remarkable 15-year career that made a monumental impact on millions of fans and forever changed the face of heavy music.

“It’s sad to say that we feel like it’s time to close this chapter, but we have never seen things more clearly,” says vocalist Spencer Chamberlain. “These have been the best years of my entire life, and I owe that to every single person who ever supported this band along the way. This wasn’t a quick decision by any means. It’s just time for us to move on.”

The Tampa, Florida-based group released seven acclaimed albums in total – including the Gold-certified mid-2000s releases "They're Only Chasing Safety" and "Define the Great Line" – that collectively yielded several groundbreaking videos, Grammy and Dove Award nominations and total sales in excess of 1.3 million units.

On the road to becoming one of hard rock’s biggest success stories, Underoath created a deep and enduring culture surrounding its music and message and became that rarest of things in the music world: a band that actually meant something, to millions of fans around the globe.
