10th Anniversary of The Juliana Theory's "Emotion Is Dead" & Reunion Shows

Having been completely disbanded for over 4 years, Pittsburgh PA’s emo-pop trendsetters The Juliana Theory recently made waves with the surprise announcement that they’d be re-uniting for two final shows. “We never played a farewell show. We posted a goodbye blog and that was it. I think it was pretty unfair to our loyal fans and to us too. Now the five of us get to do what we always should have done and say goodbye properly,” said lead singer Brett Detar (who recently announced he’s working on his first solo record). August 2010 marks the ten-year anniversary of the release of the band’s defining and influential sophomore album “Emotion is Dead.” The Juliana Theory will reunite for 6 shows centered around that anniversary. For each of these limited shows the band will play the album from start to finish followed by a second set of fan favorites taken from all of their other releases. Having not made music together since disbanding shortly after a European tour in January of 2006, this will be their first time to share a stage again as well as the first time playing “Emotion is Dead” in its entirety. “We only planned to do two of these shows,” remarked Detar, “but there was so much excitement from fans and promoters that we had to add a few more dates. We’re thrilled to make each one of these evenings something very memorable and can’t wait to hang out with everyone.”

Available only to members of The Juliana Theory’s email list will be a limited number of pre-sale tickets. Mailing list members will have one week to get tickets first before they go on sale to the general public! The exclusive presale will begin January 28th and details will only be made available to members of the mailing list. You can sign up at http://thejulianatheory.com.

Haiti Benefit Show with The Classic Crime & Mike Herrera in Seattle!

The Classic Crime and Mike Herrera of MxPx will be performing acoustically at a benefit show this coming Thursday, January 28th to raise funds and help those affected by the recent earthquake in Haiti. The event is called "Seattle Helping Haiti" at The Moore Theatre in Seattle, WA. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross’ relief efforts in Haiti. Tickets are just $13 and are available at The Moore box office or online here. Other acts that will be performing that night include Sweet Water, Vince Mira, The Maldives, and The Memphis Radio Kings. For more information go to seattlehelpinghaiti.com.
