Returning after a six-year hiatus, Copeland picks up where they left off after 2008's You Are My Sunshine.  This is a band that's never stopped evolving, with the lo-fi fuzz of their early albums giving way to an increasingly melodic sonic palette.  Despite the break, Ixora is Copeland's most sonically luxurious work.  "Lavender" is propelled by a drum machine and fidgety synths that recall Radiohead, while the somber "World Turn" feartures a melancholy sax solo and the album's crowning song "I Can Make You Feel Young Again," where Aaron Marsh reminds us why Copeland has remained a favoirte for so many.
