Water Colour-ing

Here at Tooth & Nail, we take some pride in being able to supply some pretty awesome pre-order items that come along with our already-awesome albums. So when Swimming With Dolphins decided their album would be entitled “Water Colours,” of course actual water colors seemed like an obvious choice.

In case any of you were wondering if you could really use these water colors for the actual purpose of painting – fear not! John, Micah Dean, Adam and I took it upon ourselves to prove that not only are they fashionable, but functional as well. Check out the gallery for the before and afters on our fine works of art. Personally, I think I totally showed those dudes up. Just sayin! Though to be fair, I did supply my own brush.

And for some shameless self-promotion, to order your own set of Swimming With Dolphins Water Colors + Poster, visit the Tooth & Nail Store.

Fuel To The Fire

Speaking of summer festivals and Warped Tour…

For the past few years we’ve been spending our springs putting together a Tooth & Nail / Solid State magazine called FUEL. Each mag features a bunch of interviews with and articles written by our bands.

This year’s FUEL cover band is August Burns Red and the issue includes an interview with guitarist JB Brubaker.

“It’s always difficult for me to pick specific things that I view as inspiration.  I am not one to look at something beautiful or sad or whatever it may be, and feel inspired to write.  That’s never been where I have been coming from.  I write what I think sounds good.  I try to write interesting songs.  If I find the music to be interesting, then it’s my hope that others will as well.  You could say I’m simply motivated by the desire to continually get better at my craft…”

For the rest of this interview and more, be sure to stop by our booth this summer at one of the many festivals we will be at and/or Warped Tour!

When The Rain’s Away, The Co-Workers Will Play

Well maybe not play, exactly. But barbecue. Sunshine can occasionally be hard to come by in these here parts, so when it does…a lunchtime grill session seems necessary. Today’s grillmaster Scott and I took the opportunity to run to the local Trader Joe’s for some taco supplies.

We’re fortunate enough to have a grill behind our office, along with some outdoor patio furniture. So a bunch of us sat down for a good ol’ family lunch in the sunshine – probably getting a sufficient sunburn while we were at it since it’s not very often we get a chance to tan.

Not a bad way to spend your lunch hour on a Friday if you ask me!

We’ve been working on some new label merch to sell in our online store as well as at a bunch of summer festivals and Warped Tour this year (yes, we’ll be at Warped again this year so if you plan on going, say hello to Ben at our booth!) Here is a sneak peek at one of the new T-shirt designs.

Got any Tooth & Nail merch you’d like to see? Leave a comment and let us know!

…And We’re Back!

Alright folks,

It’s been awhile. Well, it’s been more than just awhile. It’s been almost a year! Time flies impressively, doesn’t it? Anyhoo, I just wanted to give everyone who still reads this thing a heads up that I plan on updating this potentially sorry excuse for a blog much more often to give you all the nitty gritty on what goes on around the workplace, whether you like it or not.

Prepare yourselves! We may be in the business of music but there’s a whole lot more that happens in this office than that. Stay tuned if you enjoy baseball games, bobbleheads, barbecues, boat days and other things that may or may not start with the letter ‘B.’

For now I will leave you with a photo of something we don’t get too often up here in the Pacific Northwest…sunshine!
