Fanmail

Biography

What is Fanmail? A perfect synthesis of spiritual dedication, artistic vision and rock energy. Led by Scott Siletta (former frontman for Plankeye), their second release, "Fanmail 2000," is an album about wanting to be a real hero, how we often lack the courage to be that hero and the humble heroes that surround us every day. The songs touch everything in Scott's life, from his beautiful wife ("Genny") to his relationship with the late Gene Eugene ("The Other Side"), who was helping record the album the day he died.

"Other topics on the record," says Scott, "include God's love for us, the way people of Faith argue over unimportant things, and the mistake of putting mere men up on pedestals." Oh, and don't forget about the buzzsaw cover of the Backstreet Boys hit "I Want It That Way!"

Fanmail has accomplished a lot since releasing their debut album on Tooth & Nail. ESPN used their single "Superfan" and their cover of "Every Breath You Take" for the 1999 NFL highlights coverage and Women's World Cup Soccer tournaments, respectively. They have toured with MxPx and have received critical acclaim in the indie rock scene. This new release is a delicious assortment of challenging yet accessible rock songs.

"I can't sleep at night and I'm wide awake. I'm waiting here for You. Jus one more day and I'll be the man, be the man God made for you." - from "Genny"
